The financing of the KATABATA project comes largely from a research opportunity credit, granted by the University Council for Research and Development (CURV) of the University of Liège, which made it possible to purchase the three weather stations (80,000 €).

A sponsorship of 5000€ was also granted by the University of Liège and the additional costs of the expedition (30.000€) were covered by the own funds of the services of the two researchers.
